With population declining, economic development challenges mounting, and neighboring Lancaster pursuing its own growth strategy, Palmdale faces a fundamental question: Does its political structure provide the leadership needed to move the city forward? PALMDALE, CA — October 20, 2026 Palmdale is one of the largest cities in northern Los Angeles County, home to major aerospace operations, established neighborhoods, commercial centers, and a population exceeding 160,000 residents.
