I grew up going to El Toreo in Palmdale from the late '90s through the early 2000s, and it's still the best Mexican food I've ever had. I spent 10 years in the Army and another 10 driving trucks, so I've been to just about every state and tried Mexican food everywhere. Arizona comes closest in second place, Colorado a distant third. Looks a little strange and small on the outside. Once you get inside, the smell of the food is amazing. Friend had mole. He said it was one of the best he has ever had. I had a shrimp dish. The quantities are large, so I could only eat 1/3 of it and took the rest home. Very lovely staff — nicole bauer

Food was ok. ( a little hit and miss) My wife orders shrimp tacos and they were great. I had the buffet and some things were delicious and some things were not great. Service was very good — John Elmer

Delicious burritos and they are big! Great service, refills for soda constantly and plenty of seating. Mexican music was a bit loud in one area so we sat at the booths in the bar side, quieter. — D&D Explorers
